Marriage Is A Divine Institution
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 2:24
From the first chapters of Genesis to the end of Revelation, marriage is revealed as a divine institution ordained and blessed by God.
The first miracle that Jesus did was at a wedding. And in the last chapter of Revelation there is mention of a wedding. There’s going to be a heavenly wedding, and we are invited. More than that, those who are invited are not guests but his bride.
As spouses we are to view each other and to treat each as brothers and sisters in Christ and as the bride of Christ.
That puts a different light on things, doesn’t it?
Marriage is a divine calling ordained and blessed by God, and we need this heavenly perspective if we are to enter marriage by and with God’s Spirit and according to God’s design and purpose.
