The weight of responsibility a pastor has toward couples wanting to marry is huge! No pastor wants to see marriages he performs struggle or end in divorce. Shepherding couples so that they realize God’s plan for marriage and helping them prepare for marriage is of the utmost importance.
This is why I’m encouraging every pastor or counselor to investigate this resource for yourself. I personally know Mike and Jewel, and I’m very comfortable recommending his book. It’s an effective and even timesaving tool. The responsibility that’s placed on the couple to individually write their answers, discuss their answers, and then discuss them with me is very helpful. The workbook is Bible based, loaded with scripture, and very thorough in its approach to preparing couples for a lifelong commitment to God and to each other!

Another great advantage is the ability to train mentors to do what I do. The workbook is so complete in topics and subjects that I can release a pre-marriage leader to meet weekly with the couple and then follow-up the counseling with a few more meetings to ensure the couple is ready for marriage.
