The responsibility pastors have toward couples wanting to marry is huge! No pastor wants to see marriages he performs struggle or end in divorce. Shepherding couples so they realize God’s plan for marriage and helping them prepare for marriage is the utmost importance. This is why I am encouraging every pastor and counselor to investigate this in-depth premarital counseling resource yourselves.
The responsibility that’s placed on the couple to write their answers and discuss them, and then to discuss them with me is very helpful. The workbook is Bible based, loaded with scripture, and very thorough in its approach to preparing couples for a lifelong commitment to God and to each other!
It's a very effective and even time-saving tool
Another great advantage is the ability to train mentors to do what I do. The workbook is so complete in topics and subjects that I can release a pre-marriage mentor to meet with the couple and then follow up the counseling with a few more meetings to ensure the couple is ready for marriage.
